Our Story

The Many Hands Project, like many small nonprofits, had humble beginnings. Vince Rotonda was a  TV producer with passions for good food and helping others. A lifelong foodie, Vince loved to cook for a crowd, often claining that Italians only know how to cook for 40 people. His wife Amy, also a producer,  was smart enough to realize that those meals could be donated to folks in need. (or she just wanted to clean our her fridge!) And just like that the Many Hands Project was born.

In the beginning, they cooked alone out of their timny apartment and anonymously dropped the food at community fridges around Atlanta. But when they told their friends and coworkers what they were up to, everyone wanted to join in. Convinced that everyone is willing to volunteer if given a flexible, low commitment platform to do so, the Rotonda’s fomally launched MHP as a Georgia based 501(c)3 in January of 2022.

Since then the organization has exploded. In the past two years Vince and Amy moved their lives and the organization to their new home in Marietta GA. With a bigger kitchen and a full basement, making additional meals was now possible. And through a partnership with Feeding Georgia Families, Many Hands found a consistent distribution system for their meals. 

MHP now has a volunteer day one Saturday a month. Anywhere from 5-15 people come together to eat, drink and make delicious homemade meals. We now make 350-500 meals monthly as well as providing side dishes and fresh produce and greens. We rely on family recipes and personal favorites to make sure the meals are made with love. Of course every once in a while we experiment and come up with something truly amazing.
